Poster Presentation P36: Nanoencapsulation of Bioactive Compounds from Plant By-Products to Produce Sensitive Skin Cosmetics by all the Partners of the Nanocosmos Project

In P36, the collaborative efforts of all the partners involved in the Nanocosmos project were showcased, revealing a remarkable innovation in the realm of natural cosmetics. The project’s central focus is the nanoencapsulation of bioactive compounds derived from plant by-products. This forward-looking approach is aimed at addressing the specific needs of individuals with sensitive skin. By encapsulating these bioactive compounds at the nanoscale, the team is pioneering a technique that enhances the efficacy and safety of sensitive skin cosmetics. This sustainable initiative not only repurposes plant by-products but also aligns with the global trend toward eco-friendly cosmetics.

Poster Presentation P37: Rhodiola Herba – New Source of Bioactive Extracts for Sensitive Skin Cosmetics? by Martens S. and Sarrou E.

P37, prepared by Martens S. and Sarrou E., explored the potential of Rhodiola rosea as an exciting new source of bioactive extracts for sensitive skin cosmetics. Rhodiola herba, also known as Arctic root or golden root, is a plant known for its adaptogenic properties. The recently funded MSCA-RISE project NanoCosmos aims to recover valuable bioactive compounds from Rhodiola herba (mainly highly decorated flavonoids) to develop novel nano-encapsulated biocomponents for cosmetic formulations supported by green extraction technologies. These bioactive extracts from Rhodiola herba hold significant promise for the formulation of cosmetics catering to the needs of sensitive skin, ushering in a new era of skincare innovation.
